Activity description

Muttontown Preserve is perhaps the best hiking location for kids on Long Island. It has everything.

We’ll meet at 11:00 AM at the Bill Paterson Nature Center (only 15 minutes away) for a 2.5 mile hike with easy, mostly-flat terrain. We’ll stop en route to climb trees, walk on fallen logs, learn about the ice age, and explore the ruins of King Zog’s palace. Bring a packed lunch and we’ll eat in the woods, getting back to the nature center by 2:00 PM.

The walk is an easy 2.5 miles. Younger siblings need to be able to keep up with our 6th and 7th grade Club members. If your daughter wants to attend but you cannot, please sign her up and we will arrange rides.

The Girls Outdoors Club (Go Club) is open to 5th and 6th grade girls (2023 – 2024 school year) living or going to school in the North Shore District geographic area.
