Parents

Parents and other guardians can be involved in multiple ways.

On many trips, especially when the girls are at a young age, a parent or other guardian will need to attend. It is possible for one parent to take responsibility for several girls. For example, we might require a parent or guardian to attend a canoe trip or camping trip but allow one parent to bring and take responsibility for multiple girls.

On other trips, parents will not be required to attend but will be welcomed. For example, parents might be optional for a hike in a local park where we can carpool if necessary. On some of these trips, siblings will also be welcome. On still other trips, especially as the girls age, we might restrict trips to just the girls and volunteer trip leaders.

Please know we do not expect girls to attend all or even most of the trips we offer.

Parents can also volunteer to help with club administration or to serve as a trip leader. Trip leaders are trained, undergo First Aid and child sexual abuse prevention training, and must agree to organize and lead at least two outings per year. If you would like to volunteer, please contact us.
