Activity description

Muttontown Preserve is perhaps the best hiking location for kids on Long Island. It has everything.

We’ll meet at 5:00 PM at the Bill Paterson Nature Center for 2.5 mile hike with easy, mostly-flat terrain. We’ll stop en route to climb trees, walk on fallen logs, learn about the ice age, and explore the ruin’s of King Zog’s palace. Please bring a pack dinner as we will stop and eat at a small scout camp in the preserve.

The walk is an easy 2.5 miles. Younger siblings need to be able to keep up with our 4th and 5th graders.
