Activity description
Geocaching is an outdoor activity in which participants use a Global Positioning System receiver (i.e. your parent’s cell phone) to find a container or “cache” hidden by someone else. There are millions of geocaches around the world and eight in nearby Welwyn Preserve alone.
We did a geocaching trip earlier this year and the 10 girls who participated had a great time using a phone as a GPS and tromping through the woods to discover a cache. We will search for several of these geocaches while hiking a few miles in the park.
