Activity description
Join us at Belmont Lake State Park for an Introduction to Kayaking. The lake is small and manageable but large enough to explore. We will start with kayaking safety, properly fitting a life vest, different paddle strokes, how to maneuver a kayak, etc.
We will meet at 10:45 AM at the boat rental shop, which opens at 11:00 AM. Rentals are for two hours but we might not use them that long. Bring a picnic lunch to eat in the park, which also has a playground and exercise course.
If you have a kayak, paddle, and life vest you can bring yours. The kayak rental is $20 and park entrance is $8 per car. Kids must be in a tandem kayak with an adult for rentals.

The Girls Outdoors Club (Go Club) is open to 5th and 6th grade girls (2023 – 2024 school year) living or going to school in the North Shore District geographic area.
